Eggersmann Group acquires BEKON

BEKON Holding AG, the technology leader for building batch-biogas plants, has been sold with retroactive effect from July 1st, 2016 to Eggersmann Group GmbH & Co. KG. The contracts about the future cooperation were signed at the BEKON headquarters in Unterfoehring on July 28th, 2016.

Marienfeld. Located in the East-Westphalian city of Marienfeld, the Eggersmann Group is one of the most rapidly expanding plant manufacturers worldwide with decades of experience in mechanical and biological waste treatment. Under the home brand of KOMPOFERM, many waste treatment procedures have been developed and established on the market. “The integration of BEKON allows us to draw on even more experience and know-how in dry fermentation. The combination of both of our patents – with BEKON we increased the number by 30 more – means a clear add-on to our service portfolio and reinforcement of our market position,“ says Karlgünter Eggersmann, CEO of Eggersmann Group.

Acquiring BEKON HOLDING AG, the Eggersmann Group acquired 100 % of the shares. In the near term, BEKON is going to be changed into a LLC. “The future BEKON GmbH symbolizes the merger of two fermentation specialists,“ says Thomas Hein, managing director of BEKON next to Karlgünter Eggersmann. The new management is pleased about the strategic add-on and the intensive cooperation with the BEKON staff. The number of personnel of 30 employees as well as the site Unterfoehring remains.

“After many years of being owned by financial investors, we found a new, powerful proprietor in the Eggersmann Group, which helps us to explore the international markets due to the high number of synergies,“ state the members of the former management board, Ralf Sigrist, Peter Klessascheck and Tobias Bauer.
